A Word About Chicken Bones

Way too many times, I'll be walking around the city and come across a chicken bone lying in the street.  Don't humans know that these bones are lethal to dogs? If we chew them, as we are wont to do, it could get lodged in our throats and make for a very uncomfortable sensation.

So, please, throw those chicken bones in the trash can, where they belong!

[This has been a public service announcement.]

Jasper, 'tis true that a cooked chicken bone could be lethal and they are not good for us (even though I want to eat them when I see them!) ... but raw chicken and chicken bones are perfectly fine. In fact, I believe my dinner last night was a big juicy bit o' organic, free-range leg and thigh. You might be too small for that and would perhaps start with wings ... but your mom told my mom you don't like raw food :(

Hey Sadie Mae! Thanks for that bit of information about chicken bones. You're right--when they are raw, chicken bones are softer and won't hurt us. It's the cooked chicken bones that are the problem.

And guess what? I've started eating raw food! So far, the lamp chops are my favorite.
